The 24-year-old leader of hit K-pop band aespa is the luxury fashion house’s latest brand ambassador.
Karina, the leader of K-pop girl group aespa, has been tapped as the latest Prada brand ambassador, the luxury fashion house announced.
The 24-year-old, described by the brand in a release as “one of the most talented female K-pop artists,” previously attended the Prada Men’s Fall/Winter 2024 show in Milan at the beginning of the year. She joins fellow Prada ambassadors Enhypen, Jaehyun of NCT, Sana of Twice, soloist and former I.O.I member Jeon Somi, Hunter Schafer, Damson Idris and Harris Dickinson.
Karina is a rapper and singer in the SM Entertainment girl group aespa. The four-piece group, known for their futuristic and intricate concepts, debuted in 2020 and have become one of the top global girl groups in recent years.
Earlier this summer, aespa released their first studio album, Armageddon, which earned the group immense domestic success. Their pre-release single “Supernova,” a delightfully fun hyper-pop anthem, continues to sit at the top of Korean music charts months after its release.
Karina and aespa are expected to be in Los Angeles in September for the upcoming Krazy Super Concert. The two-day K-pop concert, which had been previously postponed earlier this year, recently announced that the girl group, along with acts such as ZEROBASEONE, Sunmi, CL and more, would be participating in the rescheduled event. Aespa is one of two groups set to perform both nights of the concert.
Along with a new date, the concert is slated to have a new location, moving from BMO Stadium in Los Angeles to the Long Beach Arena. The inaugural Krazy Super Concert took place in August 2023 at New York’s UBS Arena.
