Jonathan Davis honored his Korn bandmates with a recent Instagram post.
The singer shared the cover of their debut album and wrote, “I can’t believe you’re 30 years old. I’m so proud of this record. It changed so many things in my life. I remember my 24-year-old self so nervous that I had opened my heart for the world to feel the pain I was going through at that time.”
He continued, “It’s so incredible. It helped so many with there journey through the darkness we all know so well. Ross Robinson, thank you for capturing every emotional breath I took the sound of my teeth grinding from the tension in my body.”
“My brothers, James Shaffer, Brian Welch, Reginald Arvizu, David Silveria, you guys gave me the most incredible music to do what I do. You guys made me feel safe and I’m forever grateful,” Davis also said.
He lastly added, “To everyone that listened to this record I thank you with all my being. It gave me strength and this amazing feeling I wasn’t alone in all this. Here’s to many more years!!! I love you all.”
Korn’s debut record arrived on October 11, 1994. “It’d probably be ‘Blind,’” Davis said when previously asked which song from the album still sounds the best. “That’s the first one everybody heard — and I like playing it, don’t get me wrong. But it’s our first body of work, and would you want to re-write the first paper you ever wrote, and then go back and let everyone read it again?”
The rocker also shared, “So it’s bittersweet for us. We’re doing this because we love our fans and our fans love that record. But we were just kids when we made that record. It was our first sh*t.”
Korn went on tour with several bands to promote their album at the time. They first joined the Sick of It All Tour, then the Danzig 4 Tour. Korn also toured with Megadeth, Fear Factory, and Flotsam and Jetsam.
