Jon Bon Jovi has some good news for his fans — he is returning to live stage.
During a recent chat with BBC’s The One Show, the Bon Jovi singer was asked about his vocal cord surgery and how he has been doing. He said he was doing alright and was on the road to recovery:
“I’m great. Well you see in the documentary that has everyone talking were shot one and two years ago. So I’m well on the road to recovering, in fact, if you’ve been in my hotel room today you would have heard ‘Livin’ On A Prayer,’ and other songs that I was belting out in the bedroom.”
He also signaled his return to live performances:
“I just kept looking at venues that I played before driving to the town and I’m like, ‘Gotta get back to work.’”
Sambora’s Words On Jon’s Vocals
In 2022, the rocker had surgery on his vocal cords. One cord had shrunk to the size of a thumb, while the other had become as thin as a pinky finger. This made singing difficult because the stronger cord was overpowering the weaker one.
Former Bon Jovi rocker Richie Sambora has responded to comments about Jon’s vocals on X. A user commented on Jon Bon Jovi’s vocals during an online clash between two other users. The commenter suggested Jon’s vocals were ‘clearly not’ great:
“I think he has a hearing problem, when Jon needed SURGERY to fix his vocal cords and he said it sounded 1000000% great. If you are a normal fan you gotta see the problems too and not just think it’s all super great when it’s clearly not.”
Sambora replied with a similar comment:
“Unfortunately, clearly not…”
Bruce Springsteen Helped Jon
Jon Bon Jovi also discussed the influence Bruce Springsteen had on his recovery following his surgery. Jon made it clear that during those challenging times in 2022, Springsteen didn’t just remain a fellow musician but he became a big support for him. The rocker revealed:
“Bruce [came] to pick me up every couple of weeks. We’d take these 100-mile drives during the surgery where I could barely speak and just that vote of, ‘I’m here for you, man.’ You know, ‘We’ll get through this.’”
