The best kept secret in action movies (a secret that is slowly, and finally, getting out thanks to his role in John Wick: Chapter 4),Scott Adkins does what he does best in the newly released trailer for the upcoming action thriller Take Cover. Starring Adkins as a disillusioned hitman, the actor himself took to social media to share that early reactions to Take Cover have declared the movie, “Pulse-pounding action that will keep you on the edge of your seat,” and “Explosive carnage reminiscent of a classic John Woo film.” All of which should have action fans excited to see what Adkins has in store.
You can check out the trailer for Take Cover below.
Starring Scott Adkins (One More Shot), Alice Eve (Bombshell, Star Trek Into Darkness), Jack Parr (Peaky Blinders), Madalina Bellariu Ion (The Young Pope) and Billy Clements (Meg 2: The Trench), Take Cover is written by Joshua Todd James (Pound of Flesh) and directed by stunt performer and filmmaker Nick McKinless (The Iron Grip). Alongside the trailer, you can check out the official synopsis for the action outing below, which teases the perfect no-nonsense action movie hit.
“Scott Adkins has got no cover, no back-up, and no way out in this claustrophobic action thriller. Sam Lorde has spent a lifetime killing people. After a hit gone wrong, he finds himself disillusioned and lacking purpose, deciding to retire as a hitman. His final job however, results in him being a target himself. With little to no cover, he must fight with everything he has to survive.”
Take Cover
is due to hit select theaters in the U.S. and VOD on October 4, before landing in the UK and Ireland on October 14.
Scott Adkins Is Currently Hunting Dave Bautista in The Killer’s Game
Since joining Keanu Reeves as the scene-stealing Killa Harkan in last year’s action epic John Wick: Chapter 4, Adkins’ profile has continued to rise, with the actor currently hunting Guardians of the Galaxy and Dune 2 star Dave Bautista in The Killer’s Game. Check out the rules of the titular game below.
“In the new action-comedy The Killer’s Game, when top hitman Joe Flood (Dave Bautista) is diagnosed with a terminal illness, he decides to take matters into his own hands – by taking a hit out on himself. But when the very hitmen he hired also target his ex-girlfriend (Sofia Boutella), he must fend off an army of assassin colleagues and win back the love of his life before it’s too late.”
Directed by J. J. Perry, The Killer’s Game is based on the 1997 novel of the same name by Jay Bonansinga. Alongside Scott Adkins and Dave Bautista, the rest of the cast includes MCU star Pom Klementieff, The Expendables’ Terry Crews, renowned actor Ben Kingsley, John Wick: Chapter 4’s Marko Zaror, and martial artist Daniel Bernhardt, who has featured in the likes of Nobody, Extraction 2, and the Bloodsport franchise. The Killer’s Game is out now in theaters.
