Fans of action thrillers have reason to celebrate: it has been confirmed that John Wick: Chapter 4 star Scott Adkins is set to join Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in the upcoming Netflix film RIP . Written and directed by the acclaimed Joe Carnahan (Smokin’ Aces, The A-Team), the movie features an ensemble cast that includes Sasha Calle, Teyana Taylor, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Nestor Carbonell. RIP is produced by Actors Equity, a joint actors-led studio founded by Affleck and Damon.
According to Deadline, Scott Adkins will play the role of Ben Affleck’s brother in RIP . The plot of the movie revolves around a team of Miami police officers who are sent into action after discovering a huge amount of cash in a stash house. The official synopsis reads:
“A team of Miami cops whose trust begins to fray when they discover millions in cash in a derelict stash house. As outside forces learn about the size of the seizure, everything for the team is called into question — including who they can rely on.”
Adkins has made waves in the action genre recently by delivering standout performances in several thrillers. He starred alongside Bautista in the action-packed film The Killer’s Game, where he performed his own stunts and made the viewing experience more exhilarating for fans. He appeared in the Netflix action-comedy Day Shift opposite Jamie Foxx. Adkins has previously starred in Zero Dark Thirty, Doctor Strange, and American Assassins.
The Netflix Thriller Pairs A Real-Life Martial Artist With An Iconic Duo
The John Wick star is not only known for his acting, but he’s also an exceptionally skilled martial artist. Scott Adkins has put his talents to good use by being a part of the great fight choreography presented in movies like The Expendables 2 and Donnie Yen’s Ip Man 4: The Finale. His ability to command the screen and add authenticity to all the stunts himself will be a crucial component in RIP. And now that the team has confirmed his role, fans can expect it to be a well-crafted and action-driven film.
