The Best Of All Worlds tour is less than two weeks away, and Joe Satriani is back on track for the tour.
Sammy Hagar recently shared footage on Instagram from their second rehearsal with Satriani, Michael Anthony, and Jason Bonham.
Fans seem to be stoked to hear Satriani. Most commenters under Hagar’s post mentioned Satriani’s guitar tone and how it was getting clearer and better. One user wrote:
“Joe’s tone is crystal clear! My God!”
Another said:
“LOVE JOE’S PLAYING AND TONE! Honoring the music AND injecting himself into the mix… very well done, gentlemen!”
The tour will feature the members playing songs from the Van Halen catalog. It will begin on July 13 in West Palm Beach, FL, and wrap up on August 31 in St. Louis, MO.
The Tour Is A ‘Thank You Tour’
In an earlier interview, Michael Anthony clarified that while they’ll focus mainly on Van Halen songs for the tour, they also intend to include a variety of other tunes in their setlists. He explained:
“We’re mixing it up. It’s more than a tribute tour. Sammy had summed it up good. We’re kind of calling this a thank you tour. Thank you to all the fans.”
Anthony mentioned that besides Van Halen songs, they will also perform tracks from Hagar and Satriani’s solo careers, some Led Zeppelin songs, and tunes from the supergroup Chickenfoot.
In the same interview, the bassist also revealed that they would be playing ‘totally live’ with ‘no tapes.’
