Jimmy Page recently praised Rage Against the Machine’s live music on Instagram. He posted a photo from a concert in Finsbury Park, UK, on June 7, 2010, and wrote:
“This concert was a thank you to Rage Against the Machine’s UK fans who, through a canny Facebook campaign, had kept the X Factor record off the Number 1 spot by getting ‘Killing In the Name’ to the UK Christmas Number 1 in 2009.”
The guitarist looked back on the performance and the band’s style as follows:
“This band generated energy so intense that you could cut it with a chainsaw. This was a hardcore concert, and I left with a renewed respect for the band.”
Tom Morello thanked Page in the comments and said it was ‘awesome seeing you at the side of the stage.’
No More Live Shows From The Band
Rage Against the Machine’s future is uncertain right now. The group canceled its US and European tours for good following Zack De La Rocha’s leg injury in 2022.
Drummer Brad Wilk announced earlier this year that they had no plans to reschedule the dates or give another live performance as a band:
“So while there has been some communication that this may be happening in the future, I want to let you know that RATM (Tim, Zack, Tom, and I) will not be touring or playing live again. I’m sorry for those of you who have been waiting for this to happen. I really wish it was.”
This is Rage Against the Machine’s third break-up since their debut in 1992. Their last studio record was 2000’s ‘Renegades.’
