alum, 26, shared with PEOPLE after her elimination on the “Halloween Nightmares” episode Tuesday, Oct. 29, that she is taking away so much from the experience despite not making it to the final.
“All the people that I’ve met have been so kind. I truly felt like a part of the family here. So, I’m walking away with a new family that I didn’t know that I had, and such an incredible man who I got to meet by twist of fate,” Tran says of her dance partner .
“We weren’t even supposed to be on the show this season,” she continues. “So I’m just so happy.”

Tran also said she will be taking away “great memories” from being on the set and practicing her dances with Farber, 40, each week, noting she has come a long way with her dancing skills.
“Every day rehearsal is such a blessing and we got to have so much fun together, and it’s just been an incredible, incredible journey and I’m just so proud and happy,” Tran tells PEOPLE, with Farber adding that he’s “so happy” as well.

Tran went on to explain that “it’s not about winning at the end of the day,” but “it’s about the experience” and the dancing duo has made “so many amazing memories” that they will be taking with them off the set.
The reality TV star’s comments come after Tran posted a video to her account on Oct. 19 showing the pair riding a swan boat during an outing in L.A.’s Echo Park.

In the video, Tran jokingly referred to the outing as a “date,” explaining to her followers that getting filmed doing activities in public reminded her of her time on .
During last week’s episode on Oct. 22, the pair were even asked by host about whether their natural chemistry on the ballroom floor made a difference in their dance partnership, prompting Tran to admit, “Absolutely.”
”We trust each other so much. We know each other so well. So that’s why this works so well,” she added.
Tran previously ended her engagement to following the conclusion of The Bachelorette and teased a reunion with one of her former suitors, . As for Farber, he was previously married to his DWTS costar .
Dancing with the Stars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+ and streams the next day on Hulu and Disney+.
