Jane’s Addiction may have canceled their tour, but the band keeps working on new music.
The band just released a new single called ‘True Love,’ and it’s now available to stream everywhere. The band made the announcement on Instagram, but disabled the comments after the recent incident. However, Dave Navarro also announced the song on his social media accounts and issued an apology in the caption.
“New Jane’s Addiction track released today, ‘True Love,’” he wrote. I am proud of the work we did on this song but I am equally saddened by the fact that you will likely never hear it live. I’d also like to publicly apologize to our crew, Crawlers and their crew and to Love And Rockets and their crew. Thanks for being our travel companions for as long as you did. I am gutted that things ended this way and that so many jobs were lost as a result. May all of our hearts mend together.”
After canceling a date on their U.S. tour, Jane’s Addiction canceled the rest of their U.S. tour and cited Perry Farrell’s mental health issues as the reason. Dave Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins shared the news in a joint Instagram post just a few days after an onstage disagreement between Farrell and Navarro.
“Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current U.S. tour,” the band members wrote in a statement. “Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs.”
They later shared a second statement to confirm the news. “To all the fans, the band has made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group. As such, they will be canceling the remainder of the tour. Refunds for the canceled dates will be issued at your point of purchase—or if you purchased from a third-party resale site like StubHub, SeatGeek, etc., please reach out to them directly.”
At a Jane’s Addiction show on September 13 in Boston, Perry Farrell was looking drunk or high. He bumped into Dave Navarro, swore at him, and even tried to hit him. Because of the incident, they had to cancel the rest of the show.
This tour was their first reunion in 14 years and came right after they dropped a new song, ‘Imminent Redemption,’ in July, with more music expected in 2025.
