On Wednesday, May 29, the actress, 65, took a walk down memory lane and shared a throwback photo from her daughter’s to her partner, Kynthia, in 2022.
The post contained a never-before-seen photo from the couple’s wedding ceremony, in which they could be seen in their respective costumes sharing a kiss as their guests applauded. The celebration’s bright and colorful decorations, including rainbow balloons and umbrellas, could be seen behind them.
“Two years ago today, on a gorgeous Cali day, Ruby and Kynthia were married in our back yard at a cosplay wedding for the ages,” Curtis captioned the Instagram post. “Love, laughter, yummy food and drink and a family uniting and blending and becoming. Happy day.”

“Wife is sweet!,” she concluded the post, referencing her , which she captioned with the same words. The Oscar winner also wore a shirt with the words printed on them after the festivities concluded.
Following Ruby and Kynthia’s wedding, Curtis posted several sharing a look into the celebration, where guests were invited to dress in costume. She shared various pictures of the rainbow signage and balloons along with snaps of the happy couple cutting their flower-themed wedding cake.
Curtis shared on in March 2022 ahead of the nuptials that it meant a lot to her that Ruby and Kynthia decided to get married in the backyard of their family home, which is also the same location where Curtis’ eldest daughter, , also tied the knot.

“We’re gonna have a beautiful picnic in the backyard. I’m really excited,” Curtis told host at the time. “Both my children will have been married in my backyard, which brings me to tears.”
“It’s so much more meaningful,” the mother, who shares her two kids with husband , explained. “Just forgetting all of show-off business — being a parent, having both of your children married in your backyard.”
Curtis is vocal about her love and support for Ruby, who in 2020. She previously opened up about protecting her daughter in an interview with Morning Joe co-host in July 2023.

Curtis told Scarborough. “Being a parent is about love and I love Ruby. Love her. People have said, ‘You’re so great to accept her love.’ What are you talking about? This is my daughter, this human being has come to me and said, ‘This is who I am.’”
“And my job is to say, ‘Welcome home,’ “ she added. “I will fight and defend her right to exist to anyone who claims that she doesn’t.”
While speaking to PEOPLE in 2021, Curtis also said, “If one person reads this, sees a picture of Ruby and me and says, ‘I feel free to say this is who I am,’ then it’s worth it.”
