In a recent post on Instagram, Castor Hetfield’s band Bastardane introduced their new bassist, Luca Badan.
The band shared a group photo in the announcement and wrote in the caption:
“New bassist acquired… Show some love to Luca. Come and see him at our show on April 5 in San Francisco. Get a ticket at bastardane.com.”
Badan also posted a different group photo on his Instagram and said the following about joining Bastardane:
“To the one guy that I cut off after I got my license and called me a bastard… You’re damn right! Beyond excited to announce taking part in this next chapter with my bros, Bastardane. Come out to our show on April 5 in San Francisco!”
The Search For A New Bassist
The band called for auditions last month after the departure of their former bassist, Sterling Brown. They wrote on Instagram:
“Los Angeles bass players. You are wanted.”
Bastardane was clear about what they wanted in a new bassist: someone based in Los Angeles, available for rehearsals and shows, skilled in bass playing, and a good team player.
They asked interested musicians to send videos of themselves playing Bastardane’s song ‘Masquerade’ and a song of their choice. The band also wanted their personal information and playing history.
Their current lineup includes vocalist Jacobious Lovebone, guitarist Ethan Sirotzki, drummer Castor Hetfield, and bassist Luca Badan. Bastardane released their debut album, ‘Is This Rage?’ in 2022, and the band’s most recent single, ‘Slow Decay,’ arrived in August 2023. They have no other concerts announced beyond the April 5 show.
