Jada Pinkett Smith is all about her fashion archives.
On May 18, the Red Table Talk host stepped out for The Los Angeles LGBT Center Gala in a black Alaïa gown that she first wore back in 2004, when she attended the Hollywood Film Festival’s Hollywood Awards Gala with husband Will Smith.
The pleated floor-length design featured a thigh-high slit and side cutouts for maximum skin-baring. The dress also features spaghetti straps and a belt made of metal hardware for an added dose of edge.
Pinkett Smith, now 52, wore the gown almost exactly the same way she did two decades ago.
The only adjustments she made to the styling were throwing on a pair of statement earrings, a silver bangle and a pair of understated stilettos unlike the lace-up pair she first wore.
The Girls Trip star later shared a photo of the nostalgic look to Instagram.
This isn’t the first time Pinkett Smith has dipped into her own closet for a red carpet look.
Back when she and the I Am Legend actor had a date night at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2022, she shopped her own wardrobe, selecting a vintage navy gown with a high neck and full skirt.
“It’s something I bought a while ago,” Jada told Laverne Cox on E!’s Live from the Red Carpet at the time. “I had it in the closet and I was like, ya know what, I think girl is ready for the SAG Awards.”

Pinkett Smith’s glam mom night out this past weekend comes on the heels of her son Jaden Smith and daughter Willow Smith’s appearances at the 2024 Met Gala. May 6 marked the second time the siblings walked the famous red carpet together.
The pair’s interpretation of the event’s “The Garden of Time” dress code and “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme featured complementing ensembles.

Jaden, 25, wore a textured white Thom Browne blazer and skirt while Willow, 23, wore a blazer minidress and a braided updo inspired by Mangbetu tribe hairstyles.
Pinkett Smith hasn’t actually been to the star-studded night yet (neither has Will), but that didn’t stop her from gushing over her children on Instagram. “These two,” she wrote.
