Game of Thrones catapulted many young stars into mainstream popularity. Among the most beloved faces in George R.R. Martin’s epic fantasy series was Maisie Williams, who rose to prominence for her portrayal of the fiercely independent Arya Stark. Towards the end of the series, she is seen bidding farewell to Jon Snow and on the docks of King’s Landing before sailing to the west of Westeros. Now, Martin’s new update hints that this open-ended storyline could easily be twisted into a new beginning for Arya Stark.
In a recent post on his personal website, Not a Blog, the mastermind behind the Game of Thrones universe mentioned his visit to London, where he had the pleasure of meeting with Maisie Williams over a meal. During their conversation, they discussed something that Martin says “could be so much fun,” and certainly sounds like another spin-off…
We also got together with Maisie Williams for pizza and pasta, and talked about… well, no, better not get into that, do not want to jinx it. But it could be so much fun.
Game of Thrones has already delivered a couple of spin-off projects, and there are many more in various stages of development at the moment. These include the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms spin-off, the filming for which has begun, Aegon’s Conquest, The Sea Snake /Nine Voyages, Ten Thousand Ships, and House of the Dragon Season 3. Given the vast potential of the franchise, it is possible that one of these upcoming spin-offs could feature Maisie Williams’ return.
It’s A Chance For Maisie Williams To Reignite Her Career
The success of Game of Thrones had a profound impact on the careers of its young ensemble cast. Actors like Sophie Turner and Richard Madden went on to achieve great success and secure high-profile roles in the years since the show ended.
