The hit animated superhero series Invincible has received a major update from Prime Video at San Diego Comic-Con, with the studio not only revealing our first look at season 3 but also confirming that the show has now been renewed for season 4. In a pair of tweets, the studio said “First look at Invincible’s new Season 3 suit!!! Looks great, doesn’t it? Definitely won’t be getting scratched or covered in blood…” alongside an image of the titular hero in his new suit.
In a second tweet, the news of an early season 4 renewal was revealed with the caption, “Good news, there will be MORE [slam to Invincible title card].”
Based on the Image Comics comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, who also created the animated adaptation, Invincible follows Mark Grayson, who begins as seemingly a normal teenager, except for the fact that his father, Nolan, is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man. Shortly after his seventeenth birthday, Mark begins to develop powers of his own and enters into his father’s tutelage. Taking up the superhero alter ego, Invincible, Mark begins working as a superhero, with his father acting as his mentor, and meeting other heroes including Robot, Rex Splode, Dupli-Kate and Atom Eve.

Why Invincible Comic Fans Think Anissa Is So Controversial
Invincible Season 2 introduced Anissa, the franchise’s most controversial character. Here is everything you need to know about her.
The first season was met with rave reviews from critics, who heaped praise on the animation, all-star cast, and new twists on the superhero genre. Things Get ‘Really Dark’ in Invincible Season 3
Actor Fred Tatasciore, who voices the supervillain Killcannon, was present at SDCC, and revealed to The Direct that season 3 will be even darker than its predecessors.
“Okay, I gotta be careful… I will say what you will see is, well, the characters really coming into their own. I mean, really, that’s kind of what you were hoping for and what you’d expect. It gets really dark. And unfortunately as her father I’m not much of a nicer guy, I have my problems… You’ll see [Eve] develop, and you’ll see everybody develop further as human beings. I guess I should say, not just as superheroes, but what it is to just be a human in that world. Do you know what I mean? That’s gonna be a big [part of it]. There’s so much I want to share with you, but I gotta be careful.”
Starring Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, J.K. Simmons, Lincoln Bodin, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Khary Payton, Zachary Quinto, Seth Rogen, and Ross Marquand, both seasons of Invincible are available to stream on Prime Video.
