KISS’ Gene Simmons recently sent a message to Meta about his own safety.
The rocker took to X to let people know that his Facebook account has been hacked. Simmons tagged Meta in his recent post about the issue and wrote:
“Hello Meta. My Facebook page has been hacked and is posting garbage, spam, and misinformation. I have been in touch with employees at your company and so far, no luck. Doesn’t matter much to me – but to the 1 million people that follow me there, who may get scammed themselves by this person, I think that matters.”
He pointed out that if even someone with thousands of fans and followers like himself can’t get help from Meta, it must be even harder for others to get help from the platform:
“If it’s this hard for me to get help, how hard must it be for everyone else?”
Meta ‘Doesn’t Care’ About Users
A lot of people shared their own experiences with the platform under Simmons’ post. While some said not to trust Meta anymore, some offered recommendations. A user said:
“This happens to people EVERYDAY, Gene & they don’t help us. I request that if you DO get help from them, because of who you are, you’ll remind them to help ALL the little people this happens to. My sister literally got zero help from them and they’re still out scamming in her name.”
Another said:
“They won’t do anything. A friend was hacked, locked out and they are posting puppies, furniture and even her home for sale. They offered to give her access back for $500. She even contacted the FBI. NOTHING has been done. They don’t care.”
Recently Hacked Rockers
Other rockers have recently been facing the same issue with their social media accounts too.
Just a few days ago, Metallica’s official X account was hacked by crypto scammers.
They began promoting a Solana token called METAL, claiming it would revolutionize event experiences and online shopping. The posts claimed that they were in partnership with Ticketmaster. However, Metallica hasn’t issued any official statement about it.
The posts about the token are now deleted.
Similar to Metallica, Alex Skolnick of Testament was also recently hacked earlier this year. The rocker took to X and wrote that he was locked out of his Facebook page for the third time and asked for help. The rocker since then got his account back.
