Foo Fighters have canceled their performance at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival. The show would have been the band’s first since Dave Grohl addressed his newborn daughter earlier this month.
The festival is happening at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on September 28 and 29. Foo Fighters were originally set to headline Sunday night. Jack White and Greta Van Fleet have been added to the lineup to replace them.
Foo Fighters didn’t give a reason for canceling.
“Foo Fighters will no longer be appearing at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival,” the band posted in a short statement on social media. “Please check the festival website for more information.”
The show was supposed to be their first appearance since Grohl shared news about the birth of his daughter outside of his marriage earlier in September.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her,” the singer wrote. “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
Though the announcement came in the middle of the affair scandal, there’s no sign the cancellation is connected to this.
Foo Fighters wrapped up their 2024 North American tour on August 18 in Seattle, Washington. Right now, their website doesn’t list any performances for 2024 or beyond.
