Warning: SPOILERS for Deadpool & Wolverine to follow…
The latest trailer for the highly anticipated MCU sequel Deadpool & Wolverine has revealed another major cameo – look away now if you do not want to know – as Logan star Dafne Keen appears alongside Hugh Jackman, who returns as Wolverine. The trailer finds the two reunited after first sharing the big screen in the critically acclaimed 2017 X-Men movie, Logan, with Jackman insisting that he is still the “wrong guy” to save the universe. “You were always the wrong guy…til you weren’t,” Keen, who it is now revealed will indeed reprise the role of Laura, aka X-23, replies.

The confirmation that Keen will appear alongside Jackman in the Deadpool threequel is sure to fill fans with excitement and dread in equal measure. Since revealing that he will return as Wolverine despite the conclusive ending to his tenure in Logan, many a Marveal fan has worried that his comeback will taint the character’s on-screen legacy. Ryan Reynolds, who, of course, returns as Deadpool, has assured fans that the MCU outing will not “interfere” with Logan. But knowing Keen will feature is sure to leave some feeling apprehensive. You can see what Reynolds said to about protecting the Logan legacy below (via Vanity Fair)…
“Initially, we had a very loose idea of how we would bring Wolverine back in ways that don’t necessarily interact or interfere with Logan and that legacy. I know Kevin, like Shawn and I and Hugh, were all very concerned about that. We really needed to protect that and still allow us to tell the most full-throated Wolverine story we could ever imagine, which for us was just a huge nerve-wracking privilege.”
Deadpool & Wolverine Will Be Brimming With Cameos
Directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay he wrote alongside Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells, Deadpool & Wolverine stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively, alongside Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen. Deadpool & Wolverine will see the characters join the MCU after being tasked by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) with a new mission. A mission that will see him travel across the madness of the multiverse.

Dafne Keen’s X-23 is expected to be just one of several major cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine, with several members of the Fox X-Men universe already confirmed. Director Shawn Levy has previously said that his mind was blown by “how easy some of those cameos have been.”
“What blew my mind is how easy some of those cameos have been. People love Deadpool. People love Ryan [Reynolds]. Thankfully people also seem to like my work. They know that Ryan and I are in a groove of creative brotherhood that is unique and seems to be working. So, yeah… I love that there’s been a proliferation of casting rumors around my movie because there’s so many that its impossible to know what’s real and what’s made-up.”
