Natasha Lyonne is the latest star to join The Fantastic Four.
The actress is set to board the cast of the forthcoming Marvel Studios movie in an undisclosed role, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Matt Shakman is directing the high-profile Disney project that is aiming to begin filming mid-summer in England ahead of its planned release date of July 25, 2025.
The Fantastic Four will star Pedro Pascal as scientist Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richards’ pal Ben Grimm/The Thing. The cast also includes Julia Garner as a female Silver Surfer, in addition to unannounced roles for Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich.
Additionally, THR broke the news last week that British actor Ralph Ineson, known for his role in the Harry Potter films, is set to play The Fantastic Four’s primary antagonist, Galactus.
The Fantastic Four is based on the long-running Marvel Comics series and will take place in the 1960s when the superhero team first began. Shakman — who helmed Marvel’s Disney+ series WandaVision — is directing from a script by Eric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. WandaVision’s Peter Cameron has also worked on the screenplay.
Lyonne’s recent credits include starring in the streaming series Poker Face and Russian Doll, and she is set to appear in Taika Waititi’s forthcoming Sony feature Klara and the Sun opposite Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams. Lyonne is repped by CAA and Schreck Rose.
Deadline was first to report the news of Lyonne’s casting.
