Former White Lion frontman Mike Tramp thinks performing in someone’s home would be scary in one condition.
The singer recently spoke with The Logan Show and reflected on his decision to offer private shows during their upcoming U.S. tour and whether playing at a stranger’s house would be scary:
“It would only terrify me if they stood there with shotguns and locked the door and said, ‘You ain’t leaving.’”
Mike continued:
“I’ve done many of those things with an acoustic guitar. We’re doing it full band because we’re carrying a full digital system. So, in reality, we can almost hook up straight into your stereo and not even make any more noise than if you just had a couple of friends over playing.”
The rocker explained that he’s doing private shows to fill some gaps in their tour schedule since they have a lot of driving. He also said future tours could even feature all living room concerts.
Tramp Doesn’t Intend To Recreate White Lion
Mike Tramp’s White Lion will go on a US tour this summer. Last year, when asked about the chance of White Lion reuniting for a tour, Tramp shared his thoughts:
“When we broke up in ’91, we always knew we would never go back together. And a lot of people always talk about reunions. White Lion reuniting would not be a better White Lion than White Lion was, so I’m out there performing the songs, not trying to recreate White Lion.”
When asked if he would name his solo band White Lion, Mike said he couldn’t do that because it cost him money in the past. He explained that he wanted to keep the music alive and share stories about the songs during his performances. In 2019, he also apologized to guitarist Vito Bratta for trying to revive the band without him.
His US tour will start on August 23 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tramp will perform shows throughout September, too. His last show is scheduled for October 25 in Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, California.
