Evanescence drummer Will Hunt appeared in the new episode of Drumeo and reacted to Josh Freese’s drumming to the band’s hit, ‘Bring Me To Life.’
“This song is a really big song for Evanescence. [They] just celebrated the 20th anniversary of ‘Fallen,’ which was the record that it was on,” Hunt explained before sharing his reaction to the drummer’s parts. “This is the song that basically started it all. Josh Freese actually played drums on that record. It was a little bit before I was in the band. He played exactly right for what the song was and obviously, 18 billion streams later, it’s proof that he did play it right.”
Before Hunt joined the band, Freese played all the drums on the album ‘Fallen.’ The band even included footage of Freese tracking some of his parts for the title track on their 2004 making-of-DVD.
Last year, ‘Fallen’ celebrated its 20th anniversary. And soon, they will start working on new music, as Amy Lee said in an interview with 89 FM A Rádio Rock. “We’re in the creative process right now, but we’re not deep in the throes of it yet,” the singer revealed in September. “We’ve been doing a lot of creating, and we just have, like, tons of ideas. So we’re gonna get serious and get in the studio in November for the first round. Round one.”
The band has just finished their first tour in Canada in 15 years last fall. The tour started on October 15 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and visited cities across the country before ending on October 29 in London, Ontario.
