In a new Instagram post, Erik Grönwall reacted to rumors about joining Vixen.
The singer shared a photoshopped image of himself as a member of Vixen and wrote:
“A friend of mine made this picture for me. Apparently, the band Vixen is (or was) looking for a new singer and he thought I’d be a good fit. Thoughts on this? And yes my friend… revenge is a dish best served cold. You know who you are. I’m coming for you.”
Vixen Split With Their Singer
A few days ago, Vixen parted ways with their vocalist of five years, Lorraine Lewis. Lewis announced the news on Instagram, writing:
“Vixen Tribe and devoted fans: The band has taken a different direction, and as much as I will miss you please know that more Rock & Roll from me is on the way!”
She thanked her bandmates and assured fans she wasn’t leaving music:
“It has been an honor to front the band since that first show in 2019 & I am forever grateful for the opportunity and memories that came with it! I’ve had the time of my life and have loved rockin’ with ALL of you! I can’t wait to rock your faces off again soon because trust me babes, I’m not going anywhere! I love you.”
Lewis joined Vixen in January 2019 after Janet Gardner left the band. Before officially joining, Lorraine had filled in for Gardner at a 2018 gig in Oklahoma.
Janet Gardner Is Not Reuniting With Vixen
Later, original Vixen singer Janet Gardner denied rumors that she would rejoin the band after Lewis’s departure. Janet posted the following statement on social media:
“Just to clear things up…I am not rejoining Vixen. As always, I wish them and Lorraine all the best moving forward.”
Gardner also mentioned that she is working on a new album with her husband, guitarist and producer Justin James. Following her statement, Vixen announced they’ve found a replacement for Lewis.
They thanked Lewis and their fans on social media and invited everyone to discover the new singer at their upcoming shows. The first show with the new singer will be on June 21 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
