Toronto police are investigating a drive-by incident that left a security guard seriously injured and in the hospital.
Drake‘s Toronto mansion was the scene of a drive-by shooting early Tuesday, but the Canadian rap sensation is safe.
Toronto Police in a post on X, formerly Twitter, said the shooting at Bayview Avenue and Lawrence Avenue in the city’s Bridle Path district left one man with “serious injuries” and having to be treated at nearby Sunnybrook Hospital.
A suspect fled the shooting scene in a car, according to the police report.
Local media reports point to the shooting victim as a security guard at Drake’s upscale home. Toronto police are due to hold a press conference on Tuesday morning to discuss the incident, which is under investigation.
The incident follows reports of a musical tracks feud between Drake and fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. The scrap continues to escalate after the Canadian rapper released “The Heart Part 6,” a new diss track, Sunday night that pushed back against some of the sexual predator allegations made by Lamar in a series of songs released over the last week.
The biggest rap feud in years has increasingly become vitriolic and personal and has seen both Drake and Lamar throw unsubstantiated allegations at each other.
More to come.
