Dino Cazares will share what he thinks about Fear Factory’s ‘Archetype’ and ‘Transgression.’
“Coming October 31 on the lifeispeachypodcast on FF’s Bday, I give my honest opinion on the 2 FF records I wasn’t on and my mindset during that time when I was out of the band,” the guitarist wrote on X. “Some of u are not going to like my opinion but it’s the first time I’ve opened up about it.”
After tension among the band members arose, Cazares left the band in 2002. Raymond Herrera claimed that Dino tried to control the band’s direction and lied to them. Later in 2002, Herrera and Olde Wolbers reunited to bring Fear Factory back, but they left Cazares out for good.
The rocker wasn’t on the band’s 2004 album ‘Archetype’ and 2005’s ‘Transgression.’ Cazares doesn’t have the rights to those albums. “Fear Factory is My Love and My Life, it’s everything to me,” he recently wrote on X.
“Then release ‘Archetype’ and ‘Transgression’ on Amazon Music and other streaming services,” a fan commented to him. “For the 1 millionth time, I can not release ‘Archetype’ or ‘Transgression’ because I do not own the rights to those albums!!!!” Dino shared in his response.
Another fan said, “That’s crazy that the artist doesn’t own the rights to his own work. I know this is fairly common in music but it always blows my mind that you don’t own the rights to what you’ve created. Such a dirty industry.”
“Yes you are right but what you’re not understanding is ‘Archetype’ and ‘Transgression’ is not my work. I didn’t create this records,” Cazares again replied.
“Why don’t you?” one other commenter asked him. Dino noted, “I don’t own the rights to those album. 1. I wasn’t in the band at that time. 2. I did not perform on this records 3. I did not sign any contacts for those records, look at reason 1. 4. You have to ask the persons who were on those records and signed those contracts.”
After a seven-year break, Cazares returned to Fear Factory in 2009. He appeared on every album the band released later.
