Since it ended back in 2016, fans have been clamoring for more Gravity Falls. A new website, thisisnotawebsitedotcom.com, had devotees of the show convinced the series could be due for a comeback. With the recent release of The Book of Bill, a literary spin-off told from the perspective of the villainous triangle Bill Cipher, speculation about a possible revival of Gravity Falls has been reignited.
The Book of Bill is full of enough hidden messages, codes, and ciphers to make a conspiracy theorist drool, and on one page of the book, a code is written stating, “Need a password? Fine, I’ll talk. It’s the name of the eyeball doc.” As it turns out, this code led readers to ThisIsNotAWebsiteDotCom — a website that is also featured in the pages of The Book of Bill — where they were prompted to enter a password (it’s T.J. Eckleberg, the name of the eyeball doctor from The Great Gatsby).
Once the password was entered, fans were treated to a countdown to July 30. Although fans were certain that the countdown would lead to a Gravity Falls announcement for Season 3, the end of the countdown bared these depressing words: “TIME IS DEAD AND MEANING HAS NO MEANING,” with the countdown reading “NOW.” According to Sportskeeda in a fact check, the countdown was replaced by a picture of the beloved character Soos performing maintenance on the website following the countdown.
Currently, the website leads to a user interface underneath a spinning pyramid; typing certain words into the interface (try “Dipper”) leads to hidden messages. Unfortunately, it does not mention a third Gravity Falls season.

A Third Season of Gravity Falls Could Still Be On The Way
Despite the lack of a Season 3 announcement, fans could still see more Gravity Falls. Last June, the Executive Vice President of Television Animation and Disney Branded Television, Meredith Roberts, hinted at a possible continuation of the series. “You know, we’re in conversations with Alex [Hirsch, creator of Gravity Falls],” Roberts said. “He’s about to publish a book with Disney on his project. And we also do some shorts. So never say never.”

The beloved Pixar franchise has been described as an “in-betweenquel.”
Hirsch famously ended the series on his own terms, but there’s been speculation about a third season for years. The series finale even appeared to suggest some sort of continuation, with a hint at another summer in Gravity Falls, Oregon for the Pines twins. “This is 100% my choice, and it’s something I decided on a very long time ago,” Hirsch wrote on Tumblr at the time. “I always designed Gravity Falls to be a finite series about one epic summer — a series with a beginning, middle, and end. There are so many shows that go on endlessly until they lose their original spark, or mysteries that are cancelled before they ever get a chance to pay off.”
Given Roberts’ comments, it looks like Disney isn’t ready to let go of the Gravity Falls franchise. While ThisIsNotAWebsiteDotCom ended up not featuring the announcement of a highly-anticipated third season, the successful release of The Book of Bill is an accomplishment all on its own. It showcases the viability of the IP, and it also shows that the Gravity Falls fandom is alive and well — something Disney will surely take note of.
