Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider has recently been rumored to be ‘taking hits of oxygen.’ However, he denied it publicly.
The rocker took to X to respond to an article about him and Bret Michaels’ Parti-Gras. “The funny thing is, I’ve never done drugs or drank,” Snider said of the rumors. “I’ve stayed fit & LOVE to rock. I’ve always run off stage for water during solos. In the 80’s they said I must be doing bumps of coke & now that I’m older they say I must be taking hits of oxygen?! THE POWER OF ROCK COMPELS ME.”
The bit I’m not following is so what if you were? Taking hits of O2 is bad?,” a user asked. “Not at all. But the suggestion there is, ‘He’s running around but he needs help.’ I don’t,” Snider clarified.
Snider only drank one time in his lifetime, and it was the time he swore he would stay sober. “Well, I’ve fortunately had some really bad experiences early on that I learned valuable lessons from,” the singer said of sobriety in an interview with Fox News. “I drank once at 14, but I didn’t just drink. I got so drunk that I was laying on the floor paralyzed. A little sober voice inside the drunk body went, ‘Get up. They’re laughing at you.’ I said, ‘Dear God if I ever walk again, I swear off demon alcohol.’”
That one time of getting drunk apparently made him see the consequences.
The Party Gras 2.0 is still going on. The remaining dates for the tour are New Jersey on August 30th and Gilford, New Hampshire on August 31st.
