David Lee Roth recently released a new song called ‘Red Bull And Pop Tarts.’ Roth had shared a snippet of the song years ago, and the whole song was released just today.
“I’ll never listen to this again… but I’m glad I heard it once,” a fan commented on the song. “Best sense of humor in rock n roll. Song has a good groove to it, I dig it,” another added.
“Dave owes no one an explanation. Be grateful he’s sharing his artistic side with us, let him have his fun. Life is short, and his little songs brighten my day, I enjoy these little blast of music,” another user wrote.
DLR released the song in the middle of the drama between him and Alex Van Halen. The drummer revealed a few things about his former bandmate during an interview. “The thing that broke the camel’s back, and I can be honest about this now, was I said, ‘Dave, at some point, we have to have a very overt — not a bowing — but an acknowledgment of Ed in the gig. If you look at how Queen does it, they show old footage,’” the drummer told Rolling Stone.
He continued, “And the moment I said we gotta acknowledge Ed, Dave f*ckin’ popped a fuse.… The vitriol that came out was unbelievable. I’m from the street. You talk to me like that, motherf*cker, I’m gonna beat your f*cking brains out.”
Roth still didn’t respond to the drummer’s comments but did share a video called ‘LA River Yacht Club’ without any explanation.
