Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour officially joined TikTok to share updates on the band.
In the guitarist’s first TikTok video, backed with him playing the band’s hit song ‘Comfortably Numb,’ it writes:
“David Gilmour is now on TikTok. Hit follow for classic videos and the latest news from the voice and guitar of Pink Floyd. Such as this video of David playing ‘Comfortably Numb’ live at Pompei in July 2016.”
Pink Floyd Is An Older Member
On the other hand, Pink Floyd joined the platform in May 2022. In just one day on the app, the group gained over 7,500 followers and posted two videos. The first video had a spinning pyramid with the song ‘Breathe (In the Air)’ to honor the 50th anniversary of their ‘The Dark Side of the Moon.’
Pink Floyd’s second video on TikTok was a simple one, with text on the screen saying ‘PINK FLOYD NOW ON TIKTOK’ while playing ‘Another Brick in the Wall.’
Mick Jagger Also Joined TikTok
TikTok has been a useful platform for the rock world for a while. In January 2023, another rocker, Mick Jagger, also officially joined there to introduce his music to young people. In his first video, the band’s 1968 song ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ was behind and he said:
“Hello, TikTok! We have joined your world… So excited to see what you create with our music.”
In the video, Jagger excitedly dances to the Rolling Stones hit. Later, he posted another TikTok featuring his dance moves to the song ‘Start Me Up!’ As of now, the singer has about 428,000 followers and 1.5 million likes.
