Disturbed frontman David Draiman has different opinions than others about the best heavy metal album out there.
The rocker took to X to share his pick from Metallica’s catalog for the best thrash album. It started when the Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton shared his pick: “‘Master of Puppets’ is the best heavy metal album ever made. That’s it,” the guitarist wrote. Draiman responded with, “Not a popular opinion, but I actually prefer ‘Ride the Lightning.’”
Morton also shared his pick from the Slayer albums earlier. “‘South of Heaven’ > ‘Reign in Blood,’” the rocker wrote in August this year.
Draiman’s love for Metallica is undeniable. In response to the music journalist Mitch Lafon’s comment about how ‘Blackened’ is the best Metallica song, the singer responded with his three favorites. “False lol. [In my honest opinion], 1. ‘Master of Puppets’ 2. ‘Creeping Death’ 3. ‘Fade to Black.’”
Moreover, Draiman and the Disturbed bassist John Moyer played a cover of ‘Enter Sandman’ during the reception of Nita Strauss’ wedding.
The singer also shared in a 2018 interview with Kerrang! that ‘Ride The Lightning’ was one of the most impactful releases of his formative years.
