Dave Navarro has hinted that Jane’s Addiction might not return after their on-stage fight.
While promoting the band’s new song, ‘True Love,’ on Instagram, the guitarist addressed the meltdown and said fans would never be able to hear it live, hinting that Jane’s Addiction might be finished for good.
“I am proud of the work we did on this song but I am equally saddened by the fact that you will likely never hear it live,” Navarro wrote.
He also apologized to both his and the other bands’ crews in the rest of his statement.
During the meltdown, the bassist Eric Avery held Farrell back and got him offstage. Now he isn’t sure if the band would keep going either.
“In the interview before just now, I was asked about the future, and would there be an album in the next year,” Avery said in an interview with Goldmine. “I think I just came up with the right answer, which is I think if there is a band next year, then there will be new music.”
After canceling a date on their U.S. tour, Jane’s Addiction canceled the rest of their U.S. tour and cited Perry Farrell’s mental health issues as the reason. Navarro, Avery, and Stephen Perkins shared the news in a joint Instagram post just a few days after an onstage disagreement between Farrell and Navarro.
This tour was their first reunion in 14 years and came right after they dropped a new song, ‘Imminent Redemption,’ in July. While fans expect to hear more music in 2025, it doesn’t seem likely after both Avery and Navarro’s statements.
