Dave Grohl’s ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Finch, came to his defense following the recent adultery confession, according to TMZ.
Finch, who dated Grohl in the early 1990s when he was in Nirvana, reportedly described him as a ‘top-tier dad and friend.’ She also mentioned how she got to experience his ‘family dynamic’ while touring with the Foo Fighters over the summer.
The outlet wrote that the L7 bassist assured them the guitarist was ‘giving his all’ to doing ‘everything he can for his family’ despite the situation.
The statement came days after Grohl announced that he recently had a daughter outside of his two-decade marriage to Jordyn Blum. “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” he posted on Instagram. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.”
The rocker didn’t give any details on who the child or her mother were but added, “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
Dave Grohl and Jordyn Blum tied the knot in 2003 after dating for two years. The couple, who celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary this year, had three daughters: Violet Maye, 18; Harper Willow, 15; and Ophelia Saint, 10.
Violet deactivated her Instagram account following the recent news. Around the same time, an old interview resurfaced online where Grohl referred to Blum as his ‘future ex-wife.’
“Taylor was the looker. I mean, girls would send him drinks,” the guitarist apparently told Q magazine in 2007. “Some bombshell comes up and starts talking to Taylor. I was just out of a Tenacious D session. I’ve got Vans trainers on, no socks, dirty shorts, and a dirty T-shirt, surrounded by beautiful Hollywood.”
“I was like, ‘Oh my God. Not a chance!’ So, I’m just having some drinks and acting like a jackass. And by the end of the night, I was pissed, and I’m staring at her going, ‘You’re my future ex-wife.’ So, she gave me her number — ‘Jordyn, your future ex-wife.’”
Grohl first met Jordyn Blum in 2001 at the Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar. The singer stopped calling Blum after the first few dates since he didn’t want a serious relationship but reached out to her three months later.
