Dave Grohl’s daughter Violet appears to have shut down her Instagram following his secret baby announcement.
On September 10, the rocker posted on Instagram that he had a baby with a woman outside his marriage to Jordyn Blum. By Tuesday afternoon, his 18-year-old daughter Violet’s Instagram was still deactivated, but it’s unknown when she closed the account.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” the musician said on Instagram. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.”
He continued, “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
Grohl and his wife of 23 years, Blum, have three daughters: Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10. Blum is Grohl’s second wife. He divorced his first wife, photographer Jennifer Youngblood, in 1997.
Grohl and Blum got married in 2003, and they had no kids from his first marriage. His oldest daughter, Violet, tours with the Foo Fighters and makes her own music.
At the 2023 Glastonbury Festival in June, Grohl introduced Violet on the Pyramid Stage before playing a song from his band’s latest album, ‘But Here We Are.’ “My favorite singer in the world,” Grohl said about Violet. “This is a song I wrote for my mother, Violet’s grandmother. This is ‘Show Me How.’”
Grohl shouted, “That’s my girl!” when he and his daughter finished the song. “I love it when you’re on stage with your daughter and you hit a bad note,” he added.
The Foo Fighters are not touring right now but have one last show this year. They will headline the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut on September 29. They’re promoting ‘But Here We Are.’
