Dave Grohl has parted ways with the divorce attorney he reportedly hired before revealing that he cheated on his wife and fathered a secret love child with an unknown woman.
An insider told People on Friday that the Foo Fighters frontman is working to maintain his marriage to Jordyn Blum and keep his family together amid the baby scandal. “He’s no longer working with a divorce attorney and instead hoping to work things out with his wife,” the insider said.
A second source revealed that the singer values his family and has been ‘prioritizing’ his wife and their three children—daughters Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.
“Dave’s been prioritizing his family,” the source added. “He knows he messed up. It’s one of those situations where you don’t realize what you have until you’re about to lose it. He doesn’t want to lose his family.”
Last month, when Dave Grohl shared the news of his daughter born outside of his marriage to Jordyn Blum, he promised to regain his family’s trust and take responsibility for his newborn. However, according to an insider, this process has been difficult for the rocker.
“He’s gone from being rock god to scumbag overnight; it’s changed the dynamic, and he hates it,” the source shared with In Touch magazine. “He admits he was wrong, but he’s under total scrutiny; he has no freedom. He’s offering up phone text messages and constantly apologizing and going to therapy.”
“He’s trying to be a good dad, but at the same time it’s frustrating, and he doesn’t understand that these things can take months, even years to fix,” they added.
Grohl and Blum have been married since 2003, but they stopped wearing their wedding rings in public since the frontman admitted to the affair. They stopped doing so reportedly to prevent it from further attention.
Rumors suggest that the personal issues have also affected Grohl’s work life. The Foo Fighters canceled their appearance at the Soundside Music Festival on September 29. The band finished their 2024 North American tour on August 18 in Seattle, Washington. Currently, their website shows no upcoming performances for the rest of 2024 or beyond.
