Last month, when Dave Grohl announced the arrival of his daughter outside of his marriage to Jordyn Blum, he promised to regain the trust of his family and take responsibility for his newborn. But according to an insider, the process has proven to be a challenge for the rocker.
“He’s gone from being rock god to scumbag overnight; it’s changed the dynamic, and he hates it,” the source recently shared with In Touch magazine. “He admits he was wrong, but he’s under total scrutiny; he has no freedom. He’s offering up phone text messages and constantly apologizing and going to therapy.”
“He’s trying to be a good dad, but at the same time it’s frustrating, and he doesn’t understand that these things can take months, even years to fix,” they added.
Grohl and Blum have been married since 2003, but they stopped wearing their wedding rings in public since the frontman admitted to the affair, reportedly to prevent it from being made public in another way.
According to rumors, the personal upheaval also affected Grohl’s work life. Foo Fighters canceled their appearance at the Soundside Music Festival on September 29, right after he announced his new daughter, though the connection has not been officially confirmed.
The band completed their 2024 North American tour on August 18 in Seattle, Washington. As of now, their website shows no upcoming performances for the rest of 2024 or beyond.
