Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’ is now the biggest rock tour ever. Since it started in March 2022, it has made $945 million and sold 8.8 million tickets, according to Billboard.
The tour is the highest-grossing and best-selling rock tour in the 40 years that Billboard has been tracking concert data. The band surpassed Elton John’s ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ that made $939.1 million.
Before Elton John, U2 held the record with their ‘U2 360 Tour.’ Before that, it was the Rolling Stones’ ‘A Bigger Bang Tour.’
The top 10 highest-grossing tours also feature Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC, Roger Waters, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Coldplay and the Rolling Stones both appear twice on TheShockNews.
Right now, Coldplay is on the third European leg of the tour and will play four shows at Dublin’s Croke Park. After that, they will head to Australia and New Zealand for 11 more shows. The shows will end on November 16.
Coldplay have been named “the biggest rock tour of all time”, beating the likes of actual rock bands @acdc, @gunsnroses and @RollingStones in tour takings 👇
