Chester Bennington’s son Jaime Bennington has new claims about his father’s death.
Jaime has cut ties with his family after his father’s death, adopting some controversial views about Chester’s passing. In an interview, Jaime referred to his grandmother as ‘Susan’ and said he doesn’t use family titles because he feels they don’t deserve them. He also shared that, like his father, he faced abuse during his childhood, particularly from his stepfather, Jeremy, and has dealt with depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.
His focus has now shifted to investigating Chester’s death about unexpected connections. He mentioned a meeting between Linkin Park and former President Bill Clinton in 2014. He noted that shortly after meeting with the Clintons, Chester joined a human trafficking task force. He also referenced a death hoax about Chester that occurred around the same time.
“You don’t hang out with the Clintons unless you’re working on something for or with them,” he explained. “Only a month after meeting with the Clintons in Portugal, Chester joined the Orange County District Attorney (OCDA)’s human trafficking task force. After that, there was a death hoax about Chester.” A photo supports his claim that the band met Clinton in Portugal during their 2014 Rock in Rio concert.
While he didn’t go into detail, he alluded to conspiracy theories linking Bill Clinton to human trafficking, particularly through his association with Jeffrey Epstein. These theories, promoted by groups like QAnon, suggest Clinton is part of a larger network of traffickers, but there is no credible evidence to support these claims.
“If he did die by suicide, then he was pushed into it by his environment. If Chester died by suicide for real, if he was pushed into that space again by everyone around him. That’s fine, that’s ok, if it really is just him taking back his power by taking his own life then that’s what it is, and that’s ok,” he concluded.
Jaime has made some separate claims this year about his father’s passing. In a more recent one last week, he took to Instagram stories to reveal that Chester’s death was made to look like it was suicide.
“What THEY would want you to see… A man with a history of substance abuse and suicidal ideation m hangs himself from his closet door with a corporate sponsor’s belt after facing ‘hour-by- hour’ struggle with alcoholism following the death of a close friend and colleague,” Jaime shared in one of his many stories. “The absurdity of the scene itself… On Chris Cornell’s birthday, Chester (recently off of his anti- depressants, aggressively lucid, and sober) hangs himself from a closet door he is taller than with a corporate sponsors belt within hours of returning home for an unspecified LINKIN PARK project.”
Jaime also made some claims about the band members since the addition of Emily Armstrong to the band, saying Mike Shinoda ran the band undercover for years.
Shinoda refuted the claims in a show. The rocker explained the situation saying that it was never about erasing the past and it was rather about starting a new chapter into the future.
