Singer Charlie Puth is officially a married man. The songwriter tied the knot with Brooke Sansone, his girlfriend of two years, at his family’s residence in Montecito, California, on September 7, 2024, Vogue reported. The New Jersey natives said “I do” exactly a year after they first announced their engagement. In addition to an intimate ceremony, the celebration included a rehearsal dinner at a historic spot, a welcome party on the tennis court, and a tented reception with a moody blue carpet.
On Friday, September 6, 2024, the couple held their rehearsal dinner down the street from Charlie’s house at San Ysidro Ranch—the honeymoon spot of President John F. Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy—inviting their family and friends to sit under paper lanterns and string lights at two long tables. Afterwards, Charlie and Brooke hosted welcome drinks on the Puth’s tennis court. Striped seats and canvas director’s chairs added a cozy touch to the athletic setting. In addition to offering espresso martinis and palomas, they also had an embroiderer customizing trucker hats for guests.
On the day of their nuptials, Brooke chose to get ready with her mother, who she called her “fashion inspiration.” The bride, who also loves clothes, originally met designer Danielle Frankel in 2018—and, ultimately, turned to her for a custom gown. “I wanted a dress that was classic, but far from basic; feminine, yet with an edge; sculptural, without feeling like a costume,” Brooke told Vogue. “It had to be perfectly me.” Her groom opted to go the custom route as well, wearing Bode throughout the weekend. When the bride walked down the aisle, Charlie surprised everyone with a performance of the Sunday Service Choir singing Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.” “The ceremony was both our favorite part of the whole day, not just for us but for many of our guests as well,” Brooke told Vogue. “Charlie and I were oddly relaxed, and at peace once we were both up there…When I was standing up there I have never felt more connected to Charlie—it was like time stopped. Without realizing it, we had both included the same line in our vows: ‘It’s always been you.’”
After making it official, the couple joined their guests by the family’s pool for cocktail hour before migrating into the tented reception space. Brooke made her first change of the evening, slipping into a Jil Sander dress for the celebration. Transforming the outdoor area, the couple brought in blue carpeting, bare tables, and floor and table lamps to make it feel like a “cool new restaurant.” Each guest had their name embroidered on a napkin—set next to a plate with a horse emblem, in a nod to Santa Barbara. The after-party later kicked off in the reception space, and the bride made her second change of the day into a Prada slip dress. The newlyweds ended the evening by offering classic late-night bites for their guests: burgers and French fries. “We can’t believe it’s all over, but we had the best night ever,” Brooke told Vogue. “We were overjoyed having everyone we know and love in one room. It’s hard to see the areas [of the house] that were once filled with our favorite people sitting empty now, because we truly didn’t want this weekend to end. However, our lives together are just beginning!”
