Hours before PEOPLE broke the news Oct. 29 that the couple ended their engagement after three years together, multiple outlets reported that Tatum, 44, and Kravitz, 35, were cast in a movie called .
Production insiders confirm the exes are moving forward with the project despite their fresh split. The alien-invasion comedy will also star Cate Blanchett, Dave Bautista, Steven Yeun and Riley Keough.
Another source tells PEOPLE, “They will continue to work together and are excited about a new project. They both love filming and creating. Channing has a lot of respect for Zoë’s focus and passion.”

During a speech at the Los Angeles premiere, Kravitz said Tatum “supported me in every way” throughout the making of the film: “It’s really very cool to get to make a movie, but , it’s even cooler.”
And Tatum, on the red carpet that night, praised Kravitz, telling PEOPLE, “To get to create something with someone that you love is , other than having a kid with somebody, I think.”
