Nickelback shared a video on X supporting Ryan Reynolds and the new ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ movie.
In the clip, all four band members wear Deadpool and Wolverine masks but take them off because they are too itchy. Then, the band’s lead singer Chad Kroeger speaks to the camera:
“I’m Chad Kroeger. We’re Nickelback, experts in navigating irrational hate in the face of tremendous success. We have an important preemptive message for anyone thinking of criticizing the film ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ or Ryan Reynolds. Here’s the facts. The first Deadpool movies grossed over $1.5 billion at the box office, making it one of the most successful series in the genre.”

The frontman went on to list the achievements of the film:
“Two Critics Choice Awards, four MTV Movie & TV Awards, one GLAAD Award, a People’s Choice Award, two Teen Choice Awards. Two Golden Globe nominations and people are talking about Deadpool getting an Oscar.”
Then a photo of the Deadpool star appears as Nickelback’s song ‘Photograph’ starts playing. Kroeger added:
“As for Mr. Ryan Reynolds, just look at this photograph. That is a beautiful Canadian man right there. So yeah, let’s f*cking go.”
Seeing the clip made Reynolds very happy. He said in response:
“My god. I love those guys.”
Deadpool’s Previous Interaction With Nickelback
Nickelback’s video was a funny parody of a 2018 ‘Deadpool’ teaser, where Deadpool strongly defends the band after someone compared the Marvel movie to Nickelback, saying:
“You’re Marvel licensed by Fox. It’s like if the Beatles were produced by Nickelback. It’s music, but it sucks.”
Deadpool angrily responds, listing Nickelback’s achievements like selling 50 million albums and winning many awards:
“That’s it. I’m done. I’ve had it with all this Nickelback hating. You think that makes you cool with the cool kids in school?”
Chad previously talked about the constant hate towards the band and said he’s now indifferent to it. He explained how repeated negativity led to his apathy. Kroeger mentioned their documentary ‘Nickelback: Hate To Love’ and stated they won’t answer any more questions about the hate. If asked, interviews will be ended.
