The English model and actress, 31, appeared at the 2024 Olivier Awards in London on Sunday, April 14 in a colorblock sequin gown that revealed the updated ink on her arm. While the star posed for photos, the previously misspelled tattoo can be seen with an updated design that corrects the error.
In September 2023, done by tattoo artist Matteo Nangeroni, who shared the new work on Instagram. The design features the word “dormiveglia” and an accompanying definition as “the place that stretches between sleeping and walking.”
Fans were quick to point out that the tattoo should read “the place that stretches between sleeping and waking,” rather than “walking.”

In addition to the apparent misspelling, many were up in arms about the model’s choice to pose topless for the photos. The backlash became so intense that Delevingne addressed the controversy in the comments section of Nangeroni’s post.
“Just to be clear to everyone! I chose to take my bra off, the picture didn’t look good with my bra on,” Delevingne wrote. “I am a perfectionist especially when it comes to photography and I was trying to help make something beautiful. Everyone calm down please. Thank you x.”
The Only Murders in the Building star didn’t comment on the misspelling at the time, and has since taken to covering up her arm with either long sleeves or gloves.
At the Olivier Awards, which celebrate excellence in theater, Delevingne proudly showed off her tattoo, which appears to have been altered to cover up the typo. It’s not clear whether Nangeroni is responsible for the correction, but the tattoo now features an abstract shape that extends through the words, striking out the “l” in “walking” so it now reads “waking.”
