Two Matts on one tour? The hype machine is indeed real.
Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine will be going on an arena tour next January, so both Matt Heafy and Matt Tuck sat down with Metal Hammer to discuss their joint tour.
During the interview, the BFMV frontman was asked if he watched Trivium’s 2005 Download Festival set. He said he couldn’t, but he witnessed something else that ‘hyped’ him up instead:
“No, unfortunately we didn’t get on site in time, and it had already happened. But I remember the entire festival backstage talking about this Trivium set and it was like, ‘Oh shit, the hype machine is real.’”
They Believe Their Tour Will Be The Best Metal Tour Of 2025
Teaming up for the ‘The Poisoned Ascendancy’ tour, both bands will mark 20 years since their classic albums ‘The Poison’ and ‘Ascendancy’ debuted. Both will be hitting significant anniversaries next year.
The tour will start at Utilita Arena in Cardiff on January 26, then head to Glasgow, Manchester, and Birmingham before ending at The O2 in London on February 1.
In another interview, the two discussed what they love the most about each other’s bands. While discussing how many minutes each band would stay on stage to perform, Tuck explained:
“We still have to work out the realities of what the set’s going to entail length-wise, because we don’t want to be on that stage so long it affects changeovers and travel times for crowds. I think 75 minutes seems like the right amount of time, both albums come in around 55 minutes, then you get to have 20 minutes of whatever you want. From a crowd perspective, that’s probably enough as well (laughs). You’re just getting your ears and head assaulted by heavy metal for three f*cking hours!”
In the same interview, the Trivium frontman added:
“In my heart, I believe this is going to be the metal tour of 2025.”
A few months ago, Heafy appeared as a special guest during BFMV’s ‘Tears Don’t Fall.’ You can watch the live performance below.
