Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson met Paul Di’Anno, the singer he replaced in the band, for the first time in Croatia.
Bruce is promoting his new solo album ‘The Mandrake Project,’ and performed with his solo band at Hala Zagreb in Zagreb. Di’Anno, recovering from knee surgery, has been in Croatia for treatment.
The encounter was captured in a photo shared by Stjepan Juras, who has been managing Di’Anno during his physiotherapy. In his caption, Juras wrote:
“History is rewritten once again! For the first time ever!”
Di’Anno ‘Didn’t Have A Lot Of Flex To His Voice’
Just a few months before their encounter, Dickinson shared his thoughts about the former singer in an interview with Record Collector. When asked what he thought of Di’Anno as a singer, the frontman responded:
“He was okay, but he didn’t have a lot of flex to his voice. I thought his voice had come as far as it was going to get. I saw what the rest of the band were capable of straight away, and I remember thinking, ‘Good God, I’d love to front that band.’ And as soon as they finished playing, everybody in the venue left and we were headlining to about three people.”
