Queen guitarist Brian May received backlash after seemingly being ‘awkward’ during an interview with Formula 1 host.
In the recently surfaced video interview, May was seen turning down F1 reporter Martin Brundle’s attempts to chat with him twice on the Silverstone grid.
Before the race at Silverstone, Brundle tried to talk with May, who declined his first offer. Brundle later tried again, but once again, was turned down. Brundle said as he tried to find an opportunity:
“See if I can just get a… I don’t want to be rude or interrupt too much. He’s got Evan there telling him about the car and about this glorious-looking Mercedes down there. We’ll try and poke around.”
People Criticized May
Since May had little knowledge about Formula 1, he chose not to comment on it. However, Formula 1 fans found his stance awkward.
Some suggested he didn’t want to talk due to his ego:
“Brian May has an ego the size of a mountain when in reality he was just part of the backing band for Freddie Mercury. Brundle is an F1 legend, May is just a wanker.”
Another added:
“Money talks as far as Brian May is concerned, he doesn’t give interviews for free.”
And others said he did the same earlier in another interview too:
“Disappointed in Brian May he did same to channel 4 too.”
