In an interview for the A&E Biography series, ‘Biography: Bret Michaels,’ Bret Michaels talked about what he does to attack Poison fans.
Initially, Poison drummer Rikki Rockett said the following:
“The first thing Bret always liked to do was buy, like, 20 beers and sit them on the riser. And then, if the people weren’t coming up front, we’d be like, ‘You know, if you come up front, you get a drink.’”
People Didn’t Go Back Once They Came To The Front Of The Stage
Michaels mentioned that he had similar discussions with the venue’s staff:
“I literally had these conversations from the stage.”
Rockett stepped in and added:
“So people would come up front to get the drink, and once you’re up there, you’re not going back, right? So you stay and have fun.”
Bret continued after his bandmate’s words:
“Eventually you have people going, ‘This is great.’ Now, whether it was the drunkenness or they actually loved the songs, I didn’t care.”
Michaels’ Upcoming Concerts
Looking ahead to his upcoming shows, the singer plans to continue connecting with audiences through these experiences. In April, he announced a show with Vince Neil, writing:
“Thursday, September 19. Yaamava Theater, Southern California. We’re gonna be in Highland, it’s my first time ever there, along with my good best friend Vince Neil. We are bringing you nothing but Mötley Crüe, and Poison mega hits, all killer, no filler. It is gonna rock your world. Vince and myself this is the first time back together since the Stadium Tour, and I’m gonna tell you right now, we are friends, we’re fired up and we’re ready to rock your world.”
Later, he also announced another show with Dee Snider. Michaels wrote on X:
“Ontario Canada, get ready for an epic night of music on Friday, July 19 as Bret Michaels brings the Parti-Gras to Timmins Festival + Dee Snider of Twisted Sister & Steven Augeri, former lead singer of Journey.”
Still, Bret also said in March that he wouldn’t be performing live next year. Michaels plans to take 2025 off due to recent medical setbacks. Michaels will probably update fans if any changes happen.
