Poison’s Bret Michaels sent his bandmate Rikki Rockett a message. The rocker took to Instagram to celebrate Rockett’s birthday and even hinted at a possible reunion.
“Happy birthday, Rikki – here’s to all the great years & many more and to an awesome big, all-original Poison reunion,” Michaels wrote. “We will be reunited, undivided & rock all the hits in the near future. We’ll call it the Big Doings /Shindig/ Big Backyard Barbeque Summer Party, although that might be too many words lol maybe just Poison – The Big Reunion!”
Poison played their last show two years ago with Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard in their ‘Stadium Tour.’ However, the band might reunite for some new shows and even possibly for new songs.
“Y’know, back when we started I never knew what would happen, but I never thought it couldn’t happen — I just found a way to get it done and enjoyed that,” Michaels explained to the Oakland Press last year. “My pot of gold is the journey. I’ve met incredible people. I got to play incredible places, travel the world and play music. I’ve been through a lot of adversity and finding ways to get by that.”
He added saying he embraced the changes. “I didn’t fight the digital world. I didn’t say ‘no’ when they asked me to play country festivals. I’m sincere. I’m passionate. I’m a fan of music, and I appreciate the fans and I come out with the same energy I would bring when I was playing Harpo’s or Blondie’s — just on a bigger stage and with some better equipment now.”
Similar to Rockett’s birthday post, Michaels also celebrated C.C. DeVille’s birthday in a social media post with a similar reunion message. So if everything goes well among the members, we might witness a reunion show soon.
