Hank and Marie Schrader may have had two of the most tragic character arcs in Breaking Bad history, but actors Dean Norris and Betsy Brandt appear to be living happily ever after. In a new Instagram post by Norris, the 61-year-old actor included a photo with his former TV wife. The actors were in Portland, Oregon at a comic convention featuring a reunion of a number of Breaking Bad actors.
Norris and Brandt posed for a selfie while appearing at the Rose City Comic Con, eleven years after the final episode of Breaking Bad aired in 2013. “The Schraders” looked much happier than they ever did on the show, as Bryan Cranston’s Walter White turned their lives upside down. “Reunited and it feels so good,” Norris wrote in the post caption. “I love this woman. So good to hang in Portland.”
Norris and Brandt were joined by other Breaking Bad actors at the convention. They included RJ Mitte (who played Walter White Jr.), Raymond Cruz (who played Tuco Salamanca), Steven Michael Quezada (who played DEA Agent Steve Gomez), and Daniel and Luis Moncada (who played the Salamanca Brothers). Luis Moncada also shared a picture from the event, with all of the cast posing for a picture.
Over five seasons, Norris played DEA Agent Hank Schrader, whose pursuit of the identity of the notorious meth kingpin Heisenberg ended with his discovery that it was his own brother-in-law, Walter White. Brandt played Marie Schrader, kleptomaniac and sister of Skyler White, Walter’s wife. They reprised their roles in the Breaking Bad prequel series Better Call Saul, although they did not share screen time.
Norris’ and Brandt’s Post-Breaking Bad Careers
The popularity of both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul has led to many of the show’s actors making frequent appearances at comic conventions, including Norris and other actors like Giancarlo Esposito. When they aren’t meeting fans, both Norris and Brandt have been busy acting following the end of Breaking Bad. Norris just became a series regular on the hit series Law & Order: Organized Crime, and his recent acting roles included appearances in Ghosts, Unfrosted, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Claws, and Death Wish. He even bought a historic cafe in California, which his former co-star Bryan Cranston visited to show his support.
Betsy Brandt wrapped up her time playing Marie Schrader with an appearance in the final season of Better Call Saul in 2022. She recently appeared in the Hulu series Saint X, the Fox series The Accused, and the films The Grotto, The Valet, and The Housewives of the North Pole. Her other acting credits include Love Victor, Parenthood, and The Michael J. Fox Show.
