HBO’s The Last of Us will be finding its way back to audiences sooner rather than later, as the first trailer has been released for the highly-anticipated second season. The post-apocalyptic storyline continues a few years after the events of the first season, introducing brand-new characters, including the fan-favorite Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart). Following the shocking events in the season finale, Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) reckon with the violent actions of his past and the new status quo living in Jackson, Wyoming. Nothing gets easier in the second season of The Last of Us, which features the most tragic and emotional moments in the video game franchise.
The first trailer for The Last of Us Season 2 not only unveils an entirely new landscape for the main characters, but also the long-awaited introduction of Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby. One of the central focuses of the video game, Abby, will be a recurring character throughout the rest of the HBO drama. Moreover, she will have direct ties to Joel and Ellie, as teased in the latest trailer. The footage also reveals Isabela Merced (Superman) as Ellie’s love interest, Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, and Jeffery Wright as Isaac Dixon, who will be reprising his video game role.
