Billie Joe Armstrong shared the song named ‘Look For Love’ he recorded as a 5-year-old on his Instagram.
The Green Day frontman posted a childhood photo in front of a piano and had a playback of the track in a follow-up video. He wrote in the caption:
“Little somethin’ somethin’ from 1977. I recorded this when I was 5. Written by Marie Louise Fiatarone and James J. Fiatarone. Recorded at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley.”
James J. Fiatarone, for his Fiat Records label, recorded it and had his wife interview Billie Joe, which was on the other side of the 7″ vinyl. Armstrong mentioned in the interview that singing makes people happy and that he loves being a recording artist. Fiatarone, who owned a store and started his label, offered music lessons.
What Did His Fans Think About The Song?
He noticed the singer’s talent and made a deal with his mother: if Billie recorded songs for his label, he wouldn’t charge for music lessons for him and his siblings. There were only 800 copies of the ‘Look For Love’ song. The track received good comments from the fans in the comment section. One asked:
“When does this get added to the setlist?”
Another one also had a request:
“Can this be the opening song for the tour before you guys? Come on.”
One other fan added:
“You brightened my day and last hour of work with this! Soooo freakin adorable!!!!”
Armstrong formed his first band Sweet Children with his childhood friend and Green Day bandmate Mike Dirnt when he was 14. The band later became Green Day in 1989.
