The prank war between Green Day and The Linda Lindas still goes on, but apparently, fans weren’t happy with Green Day’s latest prank.
Videographer Toshi Aizawa shared a video on his Instagram of the Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong getting up on stage in a black hoodie and interrupting the Linda Lindas singer’s performance. Armstrong signs, ‘I’m watching you,’ and the singer Lucia de la Garza starts laughing mid song.
However, fans didn’t think it was a prank and didn’t find it funny. “Is the prank in the room with us right now?,” a user commented. Another added, “Most tame tour ‘prank’ I’ve ever seen.”
“You have to be a musician to understand this prank, it’s all bout concentration at performing,” another user wrote.
The prank war has been going on for some time now. Two weeks ago, The Linda Lindas also shared footage from their prank war on TikTok. The many different footage included Green Day getting on stage with animal costumes while The Linda Lindas were playing, messing with Green Day’s set, leaving them messages backstage, and more.
The Linda Lindas were the opening band for Green Day’s ‘The Saviours Tour’ with Smashing Pumpkins and Rancid. The band celebrated the 30th anniversary of ‘Dookie’ and the 20th anniversary of the album ‘American Idiot.’ The tour ended two weeks ago in San Diego, California, and the band will be performing their next show on Corona Capital Fest in Mexico City.
