Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong had an ‘epic’ show in Philadelphia, but had to cancel his next show due to voice loss.
The rocker took to Instagram to share photos from the show and how special the tour is for the band.
“Philadelphia PA!! Last night was epic,” Armstrong wrote. “This whole dang tour is hella special! Linda Lindas rocked a song during our set because they were rained out and couldn’t play…”
The rocker apologized to his fans from Hershey that they had to postpone: “To the people of Hershey I’m so sorry we had to postpone… my voice is gone. Damn it! But hold on to those tickets we’ll be back! I left a little nugget in the photos of us playing in Hannover PA from 1990. Swipe and you’ll see us playing one a basement. Shout out if you were there in the 1990!”
Green Day also announced that they are moving the postponed date to September 2 and advised ticket holders to keep their tickets.
The band dropped their 14th studio album, ‘Saviors,’ on January 19, 2024, right after they announced The Saviors Tour last November.
The tour started in May with a couple of shows in Spain and is also a celebration of the 30th and 20th anniversaries of their albums ‘Dookie’ and ‘American Idiot.’
