Joe Goldberg may finally meet his match as the breakout of another hit Netflix series, Baby Reindeer star Nava Mau, joins the cast of You for the show’s fifth and final season. Penn Badgley stars in the series that features an obsessive stalker who follows his prey from the streets of New York City, to Paris and London, leaving a trail of blood and bodies in his wake. Mau joins the series as it returns the action to where it all began, NYC, in a final season that promises surprises, and one might hope for a fitting conclusion for its creepy lead character (via Deadline).
Mau finds herself in familiar territory with You after having featured in Baby Reindeer, a story about stalking, self-hatred, and sexual abuse. There, Mau plays Teri, the therapist and love interest to series lead Donny (Richard Gadd), who is one of the few characters the audience can empathize with in the twisted series. Her star is on the rise in the wake of a standout performance in the series that led to her first Emmy nomination, a history-making moment as Mau is the first transgender woman to be nominated in the Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series category.
You Season 5 Will Wrap up Joe’s Reign of Terror
After four seasons of the deeply unstable Joe preying on vulnerable women and murdering anyone he feels was in his way, You is set to wrap up the murderous rampage with a fifth season. After season 4 featured a whodunnit storyline where Joe himself was on the wrong foot as murders happened around him, season 5 will see his triumphant return to New York City. With the help of his new paramour Kate (Charlotte Ritchie), and her vast wealth, he’s managed to rehabilitate his image, placing the blame for his past murders on his late wife Love (Victoria Pedretti) and painting himself as one of her victims.
